Announcement ②: July Weekend Guest Aufguss Events at Safi Spa Maiko Men’s Sauna

At Safi Spa Maiko Men’s Sauna, located inside Seaside Hotel Maiko Villa Kobe in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, we are hosting special Aufguss events with guest sauna masters on weekends in July.
In this article, we introduce WA∞VE from AUFGUSS TEAM Lie Brise, who will appear on July 18, and explain the appeal of Aufguss as well as some common sauna terms.

Details of the Aufguss Event

WA∞VE, a sauna master from AUFGUSS TEAM Lie Brise, is a highly skilled performer who has earned strong recognition at sauna events across Japan.

On July 18, WA∞VE will lead three Aufguss sessions.

Session 1: 3:00 PM–

Session 2: 5:00 PM–

Session 3: 7:00 PM–

Numbered tickets will be distributed inside the facility starting 30 minutes before each Aufguss session. To ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all guests, please join only if you feel comfortable doing so.

What Are Heat Waves (Netsupa) and Aufguss?

Netsupa (heat waves) is a sauna performance in which a sauna master uses a towel or fan to direct hot air toward guests, making the sauna feel warmer and enhancing the overall experience.
Aufguss is a sauna ceremony that originated in Germany. The word “Aufguss” means “to pour” or “to infuse” in German. During an Aufguss session, scented water is poured onto hot sauna stones to create steam, and the sauna master fans the steam toward guests. This helps promote sweating and creates a relaxing, aromatic sauna experience.

Safi Spa Maiko also features the “Cross Counter” cold bath, which cools the body from five directions at once, providing a refreshing and unique post-sauna experience.

It features single-digit water temperatures below 10°C, allowing guests to cool down their entire body quickly and effectively.

The crisp, icy cold instantly cools the body after a sauna session, helping guests achieve a deep sense of relaxation and refreshment often known in Japan as “totonoi.”
